There are professional critics who write reviews about movies, plays, books, art exhibitions, music, etc. These critics describe their responses to a variety of art forms and they give you an assessment of their merit. You may not always agree with their opinions because your criteria or standards of judgment may be very different from these professional critics.

When you hear the word criticism, you might think it is something negative. Not true.  A criticism can be a positive statement. Art criticism is not difficult.  It can be rather a lot of fun. At least it can make the study of art less mysterious and complicated, and more logical.
