Were you art-full this past week?

Yeah, yeah! I know what most of you did on Sunday — shoveled! But how about the rest of the week? Did you see a play, hear a concert, take an art walk? Please join in the BAMirror conversation, and share your adventures in the arts.

Busy arts weekend, despite the weather. First Friday opening reception at the BC Arts Council for BCC Faculty Art Exhibition, with works by the talented artist-educators in the Department of Fine & Media Arts. The show will be up through April 1, and the gallery is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday on the fifth floor of 81 State St., downtown Binghamton (above Terra Cotta Caterers). Great show, wonderfully curated by John Brunelli, which he installed with the help of students in his Exhibition Planning Class.Practical magic.

On Sunday, I walked a half block in the blizzard to historic Grace Episcopal Church in Whitney Point for a fine chamber music concert by “Early On,” talented local musicians with top credentials. The players — to be listed when I find my program to ensure all names are correctly spelled — chatted about the history of each piece and took such obvious pleasure in making music together that thoughts of freezing sleet and flying snow drifted away for an hour or so.
